Alfonso Ribeiro–aka Carlton Banks from The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air–has been named the new host of ABC’s America’s Funniest Home Videos. The news was announced on last night’s season finale of Dancing With the Stars by Tom Bergeron, who hosted the show for 15 years. “It’s really cool that I have Tom’s blessing in this,“ Ribeiro, 43 told Entertainment Weekly after the news broke. “All along Tom has said that I’ve been the one that he would love to replace him, so that is an incredible honor and I’m just excited to jump in — and I’m going full-bore.“
Meanwhile, earlier this month Alfonso and his wife, Angela, welcomed a new son named Anders into the world. Mom and baby (and Dad, for that matter!) are all said to be doing just fine…
