Your Quick & Simple Review: “Black Panther”

After the death of his father, T’Challa (Chadwick Boseman) returns home to the African nation of Wakanda to take his rightful place as king. When a powerful enemy suddenly reappears, T’Challa’s mettle as king — and as Black Panther — gets tested when he’s drawn into a conflict that puts the fate of Wakanda and the entire world at risk. Faced with treachery and danger, the young king must rally his allies and release the full power of Black Panther to defeat his foes and secure the safety of his people.

Having been a comic book fan growing up, I’ve known about the Black Panther character for a long time, but I really didn’t know much about his orgin story.  For the most part, what is well known to pretty much every comic fan is that Black Panther is one of Marvel’s greatest hero’s and now he’s probably got the best film in the MCU to date.

Chadwick, as the King of Wakanda, has this presents that every scene he’s in commands your attention.  Surrounding him is this amazing cast that only enhances that mighty stature making him even more impressive.  And then we have our villian, if you want to call him that, Erik Killmonger (Michael B. Jordan) who in his own right was an amazing presents too.  Watching these two clash was very exciting.

The only, little, issue I tend to have with movies like this is the special effects.  When something looks like it was created by a computer, like a rhino, that will bother me.  We had that here and there in this one but it wasn’t something I let ruin the rest of the movie for me.

All in all, thanks to it’s director, Ryan Coogler, this Black Panther is a great story that will make current fans happy and create so many new ones.  Just like the previous MCU films before it, Black Panther is A Must See Movie.
