Your Quick & Simple Review: Atomic Blonde

ATOMIC BLONDE:  Charlize Theron is a spy for MI6 in the late 1980’s, Lorraine Broughton, who is dispatched to Berlin to take down a espionage ring that has just killed an undercover agent. She is ordered to cooperate with Berlin station chief David Percival (James McAvoy), and the two form an uneasy alliance, unleashing their full arsenal of skills in pursuing a threat that jeopardizes the West’s entire intelligence operation.

Let’s start off by saying Atomic Blonde was a very pleasant surprise.  Having seen the trailers, there was some intrigue created right away.  Now, I’ve never really been a big fan of Theron films but I was looking forward to this one.

Mixed with a pretty good 80’s soundtrack, there was a lot of really good action.  Usually in films like this you’re lucky if you get a fight scene that lasts more than a couple quick minutes.  However, in this one they were long and entertaining.  Theron’s character could give the beating as well as she could take it.  And since it was usually her against a gantlet of foes, this made it even better.

The story was good and had a great cast… James McAvoy is once again solid playing the crazy counterpart.  With the fact that there isn’t any other good action flick out… That makes this A Must See Movie.
