Your Quick & Simple Review: Logan Lucky

LOGAN LUCKY:  A West Virginia man, Jimmy Logan (Channing Tatum) and his one armed brother, Clyde Logan (Adam Driver) along with sister, Mellie (Riley Keough) are trying to break a family curse. They plan a very elaborate robbery during the Coca-Cola 600 race at the Charlotte Motor Speedway. But to pull it off they need the assistants of a demolition expert, Joe Bang (Daniel Craig) and his two brothers, Fish (Jack Quaid) and Sam (Brian Gleeson).  But even with all the planning and a group like this things don’t always go as planned… Or do they???

The best way I can describe this one is, think, Ocean’s Eleven meets Dukes of Hazard meets Talladega Nights.  Believe it or not that combo actually makes for a pretty good movie, and thanks to this cast, that I like a lot

First, getting to see Daniel Craig in a role that we’re really not used to seeing him in… Thanks James Bond.  But I thought he was great.  Then, Channing and Adam, are just two good ol’ country boys, with a mild accents were fun to watch as brothers.  Pulling off a heist like this that at first look of the characters you would think Noooo Waaaay…   but Director Steven Soderbergh brilliantly made you believe in the story and the serious, but comedic, performances that was entertaining the entire time.

Now here is the catch, for me, as much as I liked this one it’s Not A Must See Movie.  I think you’ll enjoy it but probably not flock back to the theater to see it again right away.  With the lack of anything else good out right now this is a good choice by default.
