In Theaters This Weekend…

The Legend of Tarzan:  When I first heard of this film I thought Do We Really Need Another Tarzan Movie???  But I’m actually glad they made this one.  Even though I thought is was going to be more of and Action/Adventure film, they managed to squeeze in a pretty decent love story too.  There’s a really great cast led by Alexander Skarsgard as Tarzan.  The story itself was pretty good, however, the only problem I had was with all the Computer Generated Images of all the animals.  There were plenty of times the CGI looked really bad and I lose interest quickly when that happens…. But regardless of that it was still a pretty good movie to see this weekend, just NOT a Must See Movie.

The BFG:  Directed by Steven Speilberg and starring Ruby Barnhill and Academy Award Winner Mark Rylance as the voice of The Big Friendly Giant.  This was a tough one because it’s one of those movies that you’re not sure who it’s for.  Although it’s based on a beloved children’s book the film itself seems to sophisticated and is way too long for younger kids.  But it doesn’t seem “cool” enough for old kiddos, and definitely not a movie targeted towards adults.  Even though I had fun watching this one, and visually it was incredible it’s just hard to recommend something when you don’t know who to recommend it too.  Even though I did like it, this one as well is NOT a Must See Movie but still enjoyable non the less.

The Purge:  Election Year:  And the crazy’s are out once again causing havoc and death all over the United States.

Now I wasn’t a big fan of the first two films in this series, I absolutely hated the 1st one, but this time around I actually liked Election Year.  There was a much better story this time around and in an interesting way the story itself kinda sorta sorta kinda has under tones that will remind  you of things that are happening now in this years election.  However, I think fans of this series will be pleased with this one since it still keeps everything fans love about these films.  For the average movie goer, this probably wont be a Must See Movie… but for The Purge fans THIS IS A MUST SEE MOVIE.
