Serena Wins Wimbledon, Closes in on Grand Slam

Serena Williams won her fourth straight Grand Slam title on Saturday, defeating Garbine Muguruza in straight sets at Wimbledon. But while the victory completes a “Serena Slam“ for arguably the best player in the history of women’s tennis, she’ll need to win at the U.S. Open in September to complete the first proper Grand Slam (all four major titles in the same calendar year) since Steffi Graf accomplished that rare feat in 1988.

Meanwhile, on the men’s side, top-ranked Novak Djokovic beat seven-time champ Roger Federer in four sets to claim his second consecutive Wimbledon title. It was an amazing match for the first two sets, then the rain came, and it was never the same after that…
