The New York Post is reporting that the beleaguered, yet beloved-by-many Phoenix Coyotes will be sold to billionaire William Foley, the founder of Fidelity National Financial, and then move to Las Vegas by the 2016-2017 NHL season. However, Coyotes CEO Anthony LeBlanc and NHL commissioner Gary Bettman strongly denied the Post article, with the latter calling the report “garbage.“ Either way, the Coyotes need to find a new place to play next season, as the team’s current home base of Glendale, Arizona, recently terminated the team’s arena lease.
