The American League defeated the National League 6-3 to win the 86th edition of the MLB All-Star Game last night at the Great American Ballpark in Cincinnati, Ohio. The victory marks their third consecutive win of the All-Star Game and gives them home-field advantage in the World Series this October. A leadoff home run from Mike Trout put the AL in a favorable position early on and they remained ahead for most of the game, despite valiant efforts by the National League. Trout was awarded the All-Star Game MVP award for a second straight year.
