Former U.S. President Jimmy Carter announced yesterday that he’s been diagnosed with cancer and will undergo treatment at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta. “Recent liver surgery revealed that I have cancer that now is in other parts of my body,“ Carter said in the statement. “I will be rearranging my schedule as necessary so I can undergo treatment by physicians at Emory Healthcare.“ Carter had a small mass removed from his liver on August 3; at the time, his spokespeople said the Georgia Democrat was expected to make a full recovery.
The 90-year-old Carter was America’s 39th president, moving on to an extremely active career in humanitarianism and diplomacy since serving his lone term in the late ’70s…
