In Movie Theaters This Weekend

Aquaman: Thanks to Director James Wan, it looks like the DCEU is on the right track to making movies that fans will love.  Star, Jason Mamoa, does a nice job leading this action-packed adventure.  Interesting enough, it took a movie that goes to the deepest, darkest parts of the ocean to lighten up what has plagued previous DC films.  With some pretty awesome visual effects & costume design, Aquaman is a fun & funny film.  Having seen it twice already, I loved it, even more, the 2nd time around, in IMAX.

Mary Poppins Returns:  Just to make it clear, this is not a remake or even a reboot.  This new film, starring Emily Blunt as Mary Poppins, is a story that picks up years later.  In the same way as the original, this one is filled with some great songs that fans will enjoy.  One thing I really appreciated was that even though technology is more advanced in movies today, they did not add too much razzle-dazzle, and kept the look of the film just the way we would hope it would be.  Disney fans will definitely be pleased that Mary is back.

Bumblebee:  On the run in the year 1987, Bumblebee finds refuge in a junkyard in a small Californian beach town. Charlie (Hailee Steinfeld), on the cusp of turning 18 and trying to find her place in the world, discovers Bumblebee, battle-scarred and broken. When Charlie revives him, she quickly learns this is no ordinary, yellow VW bug.

Welcome To Marwen:  When a devastating attack shatters Mark Hogancamp (Steve Carell) and wipes away all memories, no one expected recovery. Putting together pieces from his old and new life, Mark meticulously creates a wondrous town where he can heal and be heroic. As he builds an astonishing art installation—a testament to the most powerful women he knows—through his fantasy world, he draws strength to triumph in the real one.
