In Movie Theaters This Weekend…

KING ARTHUR: LEGEND OF THE SWORD

In this new telling of the classic story, when Arthur (Charlie Hunnam) is a child his father is murdered.  His uncle Vortigern (Jude Law) becomes the new king. As Arthur grows up, in the slums of the city, he is unaware of who he really is.  But when he’s forced to attempt to pull the sword from the stone, the truth of who he is forces him to deal with what now lays ahead him and reclaim what is rightfully his.

Initially, I was excited to see this new version of King Arthur.  But then as soon as I heard it was a Guy Ritchie directed movie I was a little worried.  And as it turns out I was right because Ritchies style of film making did not go well with this one at all.

The story concept I liked but watching the execution of it didn’t, at anytime, capture me. The CGI (computer generated images) could have been better, there were no epic battles but they gave it a good try and I could not stand the fast cutting sequences.  Personally I would have like to found a better way to spend 2 hrs.  So with that said… King Arthur: Legend of The Sword is Not A Must See Movie.

SNATCHED

After Emily (Amy Shumer) gets dumped by her boyfriend, she pursuades her mother, Linda (Goldie Hawn), to go on an exotic vaction she was supposed to go on with her now ex-boyfriend. When things go horribly wrong, the two women, who are polar opposites, find a way to work together to survive their outrageous jungle adventure.

It’s been a minute since I seen a comdey that really made me laugh out loud.  And I was hoping this one would do that… to my pleasant surprise this one did.

Although it’s not the greatest comedy ever made I enjoyed the corny story.  Schumer and Hawn made a nice on-screen combo, I thought.  Then throw in some funny moments from Ike Barinholtz and Wanda Sykes and you got yourself a good time.  However, even though I liked this one I know stupid humor is not for everyone so I’m gonna say this is also Not A Must See Movie.

But with not much else out there to laugh at it just might tickle your funny bone just enough to say you liked it too.
